I began doing yoga in 1990 to support my body through the birth of our third child. I immediately fell in love with the practice (and our new son!) and continued to practice regularly until I began my formal training with Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy in 1995. After receiving my certification with PRYT in 1996, I began teaching adult drop-in classes at the Silverthorne Recreation Center. I love teaching and sharing yoga with others! Since the mid 90's I have continued to study and practice yoga avidly. In 1999 I was introduced to Anusara yoga at the Yoga Journal Conference in Estes Park. In my first Anusara class I was amazed at the efficacy of the alignment principles and the clarity of how they were presented. I wanted to be able to share this amazing practice with my students and began to study Anusara yoga by attending workshops, trainings and classes several times a year.
Anusara®(a-nu-sar-a) means “flowing with grace”. It is a joyful, uplifiting, often challenging practice based on alignment of the inner and outer body using Universal Principles of Alignment®. It is a great joy to assist and observe students as they practice and apply their knowledge and discover that they are able to advance their yoga practice safely.
Since 1999 I have completed Level 1 and 2 Teacher Training, and the Master Teachers' Immersion with Anusara founder, John Friend. I recently completed a second Immersion with Jeanie Manchester in Boulder, CO. I study as often as possible with the wonderful Colorado Anusara® and Anusara®-inspired teachers, as well as philosophy studies with Dr. Douglas Brooks and Cindy Lusk and others. It is a life transforming practice, a study that deepens with each passing year.
My husband, Lee, and I have lived in Summit County, CO for over 25 years and raised 3 beautiful children, numerous wonderful dogs, bunnies, kitties, and guinea pigs. Lee shares the love of Anusara® Yoga and practices regularly.
