I began doing yoga in 1990 to support my body through the birth of our third child.  I immediately fell in love with the practice (and our new son who is now 28!) and continued to practice regularly until I began my formal training with Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy in 1995.  After receiving my certification with PRYT in 1996, I began offering private therapeutic yoga and teaching adult drop-in classes at the Silverthorne Recreation Center.  I love teaching and sharing yoga with others!

Since the mid 90's I have continued to study and practice yoga avidly.  In 1999 I was introduced to Anusara yoga at the Yoga Journal Conference in Estes Park.  I was amazed at the efficacy of the alignment principles and the clarity of how they were presented.  I wanted to be able to share this amazing practice with my students and began to study Anusara yoga by attending workshops, trainings and classes several times a year; I was licensed as an Anusara-inspired teacher for over 10 years.  In addition to Anusara and Kripalu Yoga my teaching is influenced by many wonderful yoga instructors from a variety of yoga schools and backgrounds.  My most current studies have been in Para Yoga with Rod Stryker, and this study has greatly influenced my practice and classes.

Since I began teaching I have completed many Teacher Trainings and Immersions as I continued on my path as both student and teacher.  Colorado yoga teachers that have greatly influenced my practice and teaching include Jeanie Manchester, Cindy Lusk, and Jamie Turner.  I have also been influenced by philosophy studies with Dr. Douglas Brooks.  Yoga is a life transforming practice it is a study that deepens with each passing year.

It is a great joy to assist and observe students as they advance their practice and apply new knowledge and experience both on and off the mat.  I love to be a part of students finding unknown strengths, and their trusting and believing in themselves in newer and deeper ways.

My husband, Lee, and I have lived in Summit County, CO for 30+ years and raised 3 beautiful children, numerous wonderful dogs, bunnies, kitties, and guinea pigs. We are now proud grandparents and enjoy watching our three granchildren grow and discover the wonders life offers.  Lee shares my love of Yoga and practices regularly.
